James Milner has arguably sent a rather pointed message to Liverpool supporters, urging them and the Reds’ players to stick together.
Jurgen Klopp’s side suffered a dreadful 1-0 defeat at home to Burnley on Thursday night, as their poor run of form continues.
Liverpool were a shadow of their title-winning selves at Anfield, with Ashley Barnes’ late penalty ending their 68-game unbeaten home run in the Premier League.
Taking to Twitter on Friday morning, Milner posted an important message to everyone involved with the club:
You’ll Never Walk Alone is more important than ever right now. No good comes from feeling sorry for ourselves and excuses won’t help. It’s on us, all of us,to fight our way back. We’re at our strongest when we are one force- players & supporters, TOGETHER 💪#UnityIsStrength #YNWA pic.twitter.com/IKWurvZSFL

When Klopp became Liverpool manager, he spoke about turning the fanbase “from doubters to believers”, with the supporters’ mindset changing so much since he joined.
There is a hint of doubt returning, however, but the fans must have complete faith in Klopp and his players turning things around in the coming months.
They have justified our belief in them, winning two major trophies and playing some of the best football in the club’s history.
This is a blip – a fairly sizeable one, in truth – but Liverpool will come through it and continue this great period at the club.
