Rumoured previous Liverpool target Nikola Maksimovic has been placed on the transfer market for a reported value of £9m, according to Italian outlet Il Mattino.
The 29-year-old Napoli centre-back was linked with a move to Anfield earlier in the transfer window but any such move has failed to materialise as of yet.
However, the report from Italy claims that the Serbian international is free to leave the Serie A club for £9m, and London-based Premier League trio Fulham, Tottenham and West Ham are also interested.
There is speculation that Napoli are reluctant to see Maksimovic leave this month, but with only months remaining on the defender’s contract, this window presents the final opportunity for the club to receive a fee.
Maksimovic has made eight Serie A appearances this season, with an average Sofascore match rating of 6.94 under Gennaro Gattuso, the majority of which have come in recent weeks after missing out on much of the early part of the season.

A cut-price deal for a player of the ilk of Maksimovic, who has a Transfermarkt value 50% greater than the reported asking price, presents the ideal solution for Liverpool as the transfer window draws to a close.
With an abundance of top-flight experience and a relatively unscathed injury record of late, the towering Serbian could be the ideal candidate to aid the current defensive plight until the end of the season at least.
