Liverpool have completed the signing of Ben Davies from Preston, the club confirmed on Monday evening.
The 25-year-old has signed a £1.6million deal at Anfield, alleviating the Reds’ injury crisis in the process.
Davies arrives as a surprise signing, in many ways, but one who was thought of highly at the Championship club.
It is expected that Ozan Kabak will also join Liverpool before Monday’s 11pm cutoff.

With Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Fabinho all out injured, it was vital that at least one new face came in.
While Davies may not necessarily be the high-profile name that some wanted – Kabak ticks those boxes more – Michael Edwards’ eye for a bargain signing makes this an intriguing piece of business.
It shouldn’t be forgotten that Andy Robertson cost Liverpool just £8million back in 2017, at a time when he was relegated with Hull City. He has since gone on to become arguably the best left-back in Europe.
It is a special move for Davies, who will no doubt be pinching himself at the moment.
