A number of Liverpool fans were unimpressed with Thiago’s performance in the Reds’ shock defeat at home to Brighton.
The Premier League champions suffered another sobering night at Anfield on Wednesday, losing 1-0 to the Seagulls.
Liverpool were flat from the off, rarely looking like creating chances and eventually being undone by a Steven Alzate goal.
Brighton were fully deserving of their victory and Jurgen Klopp’s men are now seven points adrift of Man City, having played one game more.
It was an evening full of poor individual performances and someone who struggled was Thiago, who again started in a No.8 role in midfield.
The Spaniard looked silky at times, but he failed to bring the creative spark that Liverpool fans hoped he would against defence-minded weaker teams.
It was arguably Thiago’s least effective performance so far for the Reds and these supporters took to Twitter to reveal their disappointment at his display.
May be controversial, but I was more disappointed with Thiago than most tonight.
We signed him to be the difference-maker in these games and he didn't really have any kind of impact.
Wonderful player, but we should be allowed to criticise him. Much more was required.
