A number of Liverpool fans have been reacting to the appointment of Michael Oliver as referee against Manchester City.
The Reds face the ultimate test on Sunday afternoon, as they host a City side who have won their last 13 games in a row, in all competitions.
Pep Guardiola’s side are now seven points clear of Liverpool with a game in hand, showing why victory this weekend is so important.
Jurgen Klopp’s champions look a shadow of their former selves, however, with an endless string of injuries hitting them hard.
Oliver has been confirmed as the referee for Sunday’s vital meeting, with the 35-year-old generally regarded as one of the best around, despite having a bad game in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw at Everton earlier in the season.
These Reds supporters have been providing their reactions to the appointment on Twitter, with more positivity in the air compared to other referees in the league.
Michael Oliver will take charge of Liverpool's clash with Man City on Sunday.
Thoughts?
Easily the best in the business for me, despite what happened at Goodison.

By far the best of a very bad bunch. He had a nightmare in the derby though.
