A number of Liverpool supporters have been left bemused at Jurgen Klopp’s treatment of Nathaniel Phillips, following the Reds’ 3-1 loss away to Leicester City.
The Premier League champions suffered yet another day to forget on Saturday afternoon, letting a 1-0 lead slip and capitulating at the King Power Stadium.
That’s now three league defeats in a row for Liverpool, who are not only out of the title race, but also now face a real battle to finish in the top four.
There was yet more calamitous defending on show on Saturday, with Alisson and debutant Ozan Kabak’s mix-up allowing Jamie Vardy to put Leicester 2-1 up.
The Turkey international partnered Jordan Henderson at centre-back, but won’t want to remember his maiden Liverpool appearance in a hurry.
There was no place in the starting lineup for Phillips, despite the 23-year-old largely doing a solid job this season, making six appearances in the league.
It was a decision that has left some frustrated, with a number of Liverpool fans taking to Twitter to voice their feelings.

Klopp needs to introspect! Some of his selections and decisions of late have been baffling and have cost LFC badly! Now with Origi injured, the Minamino move looks a very major blunder! Nat Phillips unfairly treated

@LFC @JohnDykesFC What else does Nat Phillips need to do to get a chance? Klopp is blundering game after game

I'm no football manager, but still can't help but think Nat Phillips is being unfairly overlooked..The games the lad has played he's been consistent & put in some really good performances..Not to mention the decent spell in Germany at Stuttgart..The whole thing doesn't add up.
