Jordan Henderson set for “significant lay-off” through injury

Jordan Henderson is set for a “significant lay-off” with an adductor injury, according to the Daily Mail‘s Dominic King.

The 30-year-old limped out of Liverpool’s disastrous 2-0 defeat at home to Everton on Sunday, as the Reds’ fitness woes continue.

Henderson will have a scan on Monday in order to determine the severity of the injury, but Liverpool’s medical staff are not believed to be confident.

The club expect him to be out for ‘several weeks’, missing the Premier League champions’ next five games in the process.

Liverpool’s injury problems have become laughable this season, completely derailing Jurgen Klopp’s side’s campaign.

While a few key men being out cannot be used as an excuse for a team’s failings, the Reds are in a position where their three best centre-backs are all out for the season, while their two premier midfielders – both of whom have had to play in defence – are now also missing.

It is an unprecedented situation and Henderson’s leadership and drive is going to be a huge loss in the coming weeks.

With each passing match, the more Klopp must be dreaming of August and a new season arriving.
