Liverpool set to ‘suffer consequences’ from UEFA over European Super League

This last week has been a real whirlwind in the world of football.

Monday saw 12 of Europes biggest clubs announce their plans to form a proposed ‘Super League’.

However, just 24 hours later and the six English clubs involve in the project pulled out after plenty of backlash.

Liverpool were one of those six English clubs to announce and then pull out at the start of the week.

Now, the club is set to ‘suffer the consequences’ of their actions from UEFA report the Liverpool Echo’s Chris Beesley

According to Beesley, UEFA President Alexander Ceferin announced that himself and other members of the organisation will meet next week.

They plan to decide what sanctions to take against the 12 clubs involved in the proposed plans.

What this form of consequence may be in unknown but UEFA don’t look afraid to hand out some tough punishments.

UEFA will likely want to make a real statement after the 12 clubs’ actions over the last week.

We feel that Liverpool and the 11 other clubs could see a ban from European competitions next season.

Not only this, but a financial consequence is also likely given the wealth of the 12 clubs.

Whatever happens, we know that Liverpool and the other clubs deserve to be punished for their actions.

FSG and John W Henry should have known better than to involve the club in such a damaging idea.
