Liverpool legend John Aldridge has claimed Roberto Firmino has become a ‘problem’ for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The Reds have struggled to recapture their form of previous seasons this campaign, surrounding their Premier League crown without a fight.
Hit hard by injuries, in particular to the defensive department, Klopp can point towards numerous mitigating factors that have contributed to the demise.
However, Aldridge, who scored 63 goals in 104 games for the Anfield club, has told the Liverpool Echo that it’s the Brazilian number nine causing many of the issues.
From my point of view as a former striker, there is no real belief in the forwards and it is horrible to see. Look at Firmino, he is a problem. He has lost his mojo completely and I have been one of his biggest fans, but it has been like this for a long time now. It is evident to all the fans.
The 62-year-old went on to explain how Klopp still believes in Firmino, albeit the 29-year-old is no longer doing his ‘job’ – scoring goals – with just six in 42 appearances.

There’s no doubt Liverpool’s forwards have become wasteful in front of goal, especially since the turn of the year and the seven-goal blitz against Crystal Palace.
This profligacy could see Klopp act in the summer transfer market, with reports suggesting a recognised striker could head to Anfield.
