Liverpool to focus on ‘youthful potential’ in transfer market starting with £34m defender says journalist

The current season is almost at an end, meaning the transfer window is just around the corner.

Liverpool’s season so far has been far from exemplary and next campaign need to see a big change.

It likely we will see some personnel changes in the summer with players coming and going.

However, according to Sunday World journalist Kevin Palmer, the club will focus on ‘youthful potential’ in the market.

This includes the likelihood of Liverpool signing RB Leipzig defender Ibrahima Konaté, with his £34million release clause set to be triggered…

The transfer policy is really no different from what Liverpool fans have seen under FSG’s tenure at the club.

Fans have been used to young players with a high ceiling joining the club with the likes of Diogo Jota a great example.

Konaté would be a fantastic addition to the clubs defensive options and is a great investment at just 21-years-old.

The Reds have had a tough time this season in defence with their three first choice centre-backs all picking up injuries.

Virgil Van Dijk and Joe Gomez have been out for almost seven and six months respectively.

Fellow defender Joel Matip also picked up an injury back in December that has seen him sidelined since.

I don’t doubt that we will see some changes in the Liverpool ranks in the coming months.

If the players we bring in provide us with better quality in depth then there can be no arguments against it.
