Liverpool have had their fair share of run-ins with officials this season as controversial VAR decisions, in particular, have plagued the 2020/21 campaign.

As highlighted by ESPN, the Reds have suffered most, along with West Brom this season in terms of decisions going against them – losing six points in the process.

Those points would see Jurgen Klopp‘s side safely inside the top four with three games remaining and their destiny all but sealed.

However, Liverpool head into the final three matches needing nine points to secure UEFA Champions League qualification for next season.

Given the influence officials have had this season, the appointments are often greeted with a flurry of attention.

On Sunday Klopp’s men will be greeted by referee Mike Dean and Kevin Friend will be on VAR duty when they travel to The Hawthorns to face West Brom, as cited by The Anfield Talk on Twitter.

Whilst Liverpool will hope the run-in isn’t marred by any controversial decisions, they also shouldn’t be relying on officials in order to get them over the line.
