Liverpool have been linked with a sensational swoop for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman this summer.
The Reds are expected to pursue additional attacking options after Jurgen Klopp’s side became heavily reliant on Mohamed Salah’s goal contributions last term.
Previous reports have already claimed the Anfield club had already submitted a £30million bid for the 25-year-old Frenchman, albeit someway off the £42million asking price.
Now, chief reporter German outlet Sport1, Florian Plettenberg, has taken to Twitter to update the situation.

Coman made a first outing at Euro 2020 last week, coming off the bench in a 2-2 draw against Diogo Jota’s Portugal.
During 2020/21, the flying winger once hailed as ‘exceptional’ by teammate Corentin Tolisso, scored eight and registered another 15 assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.

Valued at an eye-watering £58.8million and under contract in Bavaria until 2023 (Transfermarkt), even shelling out the mooted £42million demands would be somewhat of a bargain deal.
Perhaps the main concern for the Reds will stem from what is a worrying injury history, particularly during the 31-cap ace’s early career.
Whilst the majority of more recent problems have been minor, Klopp knows all about having a host of star names unavailable.
Predominantly a left-winger, capable of playing wide right and centrally, Coman would provide high-quality cover across the frontline – a factor that could sway the pursuit to become more active.
