Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for Lille midfielder Renato Sanches in recent days.
Fresh off the back of a string of remarkable displays in Euro 2020 the Reds and Premier League rivals Arsenal have both taken a keen interest in the 23-year-old.
The Portuguese ace has seemingly been earmarked as a Gini Wijnaldum replacement as Jurgen Klopp looks to suitably replenish the squad this summer.
Whilst many of the sources have been questionable, reputable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano took it upon himself when speaking to The EyetoEye Podcast, as cited by LFC Transfer Room on Twitter, to confirm the interest from Merseyside.

That mooted fee has since been altered to €30-35million in order to land the 30-cap star.
Elsewhere, Nicolo Schira has reported that the Reds have ‘opened talks’ with the Ligue 1 club as speculation ramps up.
During 2020/21, Sanches earned an average Sofascore rating of 6.90 from 23 top-flight outings.

Valued at £27million and contracted until 2023 with the French champions (Transfermarkt), the asking price represents excellent value for Liverpool.
Predominantly a box to box midfielder, Sanches is capable of playing on either wing as well as in a more advanced role.
The Portuguese ace has reinvented himself and his career after a troubled spell on loan at Swansea in 2017.
Possessing a plethora of attributes that make him the ideal purpose-built midfielder, Sanches does hold a worrying injury record that would be of concern to Kopites.
That aside, given the age, finances and ability, added to Klopp’s ability to improve players, this could be a deal made in heaven.
