A number of Liverpool players have been linked with a move away from the club this summer.
The club is beginning somewhat of a transition phase with the Reds looking to offload fringe players.
With that comes the task of finding the right price for the right player throughout the transfer window.
This summer has been no different, with the Reds setting their prices and negotiating with clubs across Europe.
Last night saw the Reds received contact from Ligue 1 side, Lyon, over a possible deal for Xherdan Shaqiri.
According to The Athletic’s James Pearce, the French club’s offer was a long way short of Liverpool’s £12m valuation…
As cited by LFC Transfer Room above, Lyon made contact last night prior to the club’s win over Osasuna.
Shaqiri has been a fantastic player for the club over the last few years and enjoyed a great Euro 2020.
His showing throughout the tournament attracted further interest after impressive performances for Switzerland.
As the report states, Lazio and Napoli are also interested in the player over the recent weeks.
Seeing Shaqiri leave would be a huge shame as he has always managed to offer something when on the pitch.
However, for the club to progress and both parties to be happy, a move now seems a likely resolve.
So long as the club can get their full valuation of £12million, then it sets them in a great place to find a replacement.
