Journalist says Liverpool should sign FC Barcelona’s £54m-rated wonderkid forward

There is no secret that Liverpool are in need of slightly more depth in their attacking options next season.

Liverpool’s current forward options consist of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino, and Diogo Jota.

Players such as Takumi Minamino, Divock Origi, and Xherdan Shaqiri are also available but their futures are uncertain.

With that comes the possibility of new additions to the squad this month, with plenty of players linked.

In terms of forwards, the Reds have been linked with the likes of Domenico Berardi and Adama Traore to name a few.

However, Liverpool journalist DaveOCKOP on Twitter has suggested that the club make a move for FC Barcelona youngster Ansu Fati…

It certainly is a hot take from the journalist but it isn’t the most ridiculous suggestion.

The youngster has been a real head-turner for the Catalan club since his first-team debut in August 2019.

Following that, after Lionel Messi’s departure to PSG yesterday, Fati and others will be the rebuild Barcelona needs.

At just 18-years-old Fati is already attracting the attention of the footballing world.

Despite currently nursing an injury, the youngster is still subject to plenty of interest across Europe.

With a current market value of £54million, there is no doubt that Fati would come at a big cost for any club.

Of course, this is no definitive rumour or source, merely just a journalists opinion.

However, it is a great take given the player’s age and ability and is in line with the club’s transfer policy.
