Liverpool may decide against seeking a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum in the final weeks of the summer transfer window.
Following the departure of the Dutchman to Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent, the Reds were expected to seek a successor in midfield.
However, despite a plethora of potential targets linked with the role, there has been no sign of an imminent arrival.
According to a report from The Times, as cited by LFC Transfer Room on Twitter, the hierarchy may seek a solution from within the current ranks.

The report claims that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp and lauded technical director Michael Edwards view the return to and continued fitness of big names may sufficiently cover any issues.
Last season Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita managed just 23 Premier League appearances combined whilst Wijnaldum amassed 51 outings in total and appeared in every league game.

Although there is certainly enough quality within the current squad to cover almost every position, especially following the arrival of Ibrahima Konate, strength in depth counts for little when regularly sidelined through injury.
Unfortunately, both Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain have spent large periods absent during their careers on Merseyside and have shown little sign of remaining dependable.
Albeit the likes of Harvey Elliott, Kaide Gordon and Ben Woodburn could be waiting in the wings this season, a couple of quality additions in the market would fill Kopites with far more confidence.
