Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn is just hours away from joining Hearts on a season-long loan deal.
According to the Independent, the Scottish side is poised to complete the signing.
Woodburn will no doubt benefit from his loan spell with Hearts but his future at the club is still unsure.
The youngster has spent multiple seasons on loan at a number of clubs but has yet to make an impact in the first team.
Last season saw the young Welshman on loan at Blackpool for the first half of the campaign.
However, he failed to register a goal or an assist from 11 appearances for Neil Critchley’s side.
As cited by Anfield Watch below, Hearts manager Robbie Neilson is expecting him today…
Hopefully, Woodburn will find his form for the Scottish Premier League club to show the Reds exactly how good he is.
Neilson is clearly excited by the signing, with him admitting he would want the deal to be a permanent one…
“It’s been authorised by Liverpool. It is just a case of getting him up and getting him ready. I am delighted. I would love it to be a permanent, but he is not one we can get so it will be a loan.”
Robbie Neilson to the Independent
No matter the case, Woodburn is a talented youngster and will need valuable game time to progress.
Whether the 21-year-old will have a future at the club is unknown, with some tough competition ahead of him.
The likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané, Roberto Firmino, and Diogo Jota make up a stellar attack.
As well as that, the likes of Harvey Elliott growing and progressing makes it even harder for Woodburn.
Hopefully, he will find his feet at Hearts and enjoy a successful campaign in Scotland.
