Liverpool have been relatively inactive in the transfer window so far this month and have chosen to promote from within as opposed to spending big thus far.
With exactly one week until the deadline, the Reds continue to take a watching brief as opposed to being fully engrossed in wheeling and dealing.
That could all still change in the final days, however, as Xherdan Shaqiri and perhaps other fringe players leave the club for pastures new.
One man heavily linked with a move to Anfield, Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, is still being touted with a Premier League switch and could be turning up at a rival before the end of the month.
That’s according to a report from Spanish outlet AS, as cited by Sport Witness on Twitter.

The report mentions the interest from Liverpool before suggesting arch-rivals Manchester United are leading the race for the 19-cap Spaniard.
Despite being ‘very close’ to sealing an exit away from Madrid, the 26-year-old has played 90 minutes in both La Liga matches at the start of the season for Diego Simeone’s side.

Valued at £36million and under contract until 2026 at the Wanda Metropolitano (Transfermarkt), signing Saul on loan with an obligation to buy is a no-brainer for all suitors.
A versatile midfielder with immense pedigree, the 446 career appearance ace would be the ideal candidate to replace Gini Wijnaldum.
Rarely injured and with an eye for goal, Jurgen Klopp’s squad would certainly feel the benefit of adding Saul to the ranks.
Currently, the German manager is reliant on the continued fitness of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and Jordan Henderson – a trio with a wretched recent history of remaining fit for prolonged periods.
