Former Premier League striker Noel Whelan has backed Liverpool to pull off the ‘amazing’ signing of Jude Bellingham.
This comes following a report from the Express claimed that the Reds were monitoring the 18-year-old’s performances over the international break.
Bellingham has enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence after a move from Birmingham to German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund.
Speaking to Football Insider, Whelan suggested that the teenager would be a superb capture for the Anfield club.
Wow, he would be an amazing signing. I thought he was excellent against Andorra. I’m always excited to watch him. He ticks every single box as a midfielder. He has good stature, a good engine, a great passing range and vision. I love the little drag backs and nutmegs. He is just technically very gifted. The complete midfield player. I’m sure it’s not just Liverpool keeping an eye on him because he is a really, really exciting prospect. A lot of the top clubs in Europe will be interested.
Since arriving in Germany, the eight times capped England starlet has scored five and assisted seven goals in 51 appearances.
This season the teenager has earned an impressive average Sofascore rating of 7.50 from three Bundesliga outings.

Valued at £49.5million and under contract until 2025 in Dortmund (Transfermarkt), any deal for Bellingham would likely come at an eye-watering cost.
However, given the level of attainment and potential, the club would be securing a key component of their midfield for a decade-plus with the capture.
As the evergreen James Milner likely moves on next summer and Jordan Henderson reaches 32 at the start of next term, signing the wonderkid would be a smart move.
