Legendary AC Milan figure Alessandro Costacurta has labelled Liverpool as ‘unplayable’ after the early stages of the UEFA Champions League.
The Reds sit top of Group B after two matchdays having beaten both Milan and FC Porto, scoring eight times in the process.
By contrast, the Serie A giants were on the losing end of another tight contest as ex-Liverpool ace Luis Suarez netted a late penalty to earn a 2-1 for Atletico Madrid.
Speaking on Sky Sports, via Tuttomercatoweb, Costacurta was full of praise for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Right now, in the Milan group, there is Liverpool who are unplayable. Of course, for Milan the draw (against Atletico) would have been really important. Compared with the Liverpool knockout, this defeat provides a bit of morale, but it’s a shame about that last twist.
The 55-year-old Italian has previous with the Anfield club having been an unused substitute in Istanbul as Rafa Benitez’ men pulled off that remarkable final comeback.
