Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson has tipped Jurgen Klopp’s side to run out comfortable winners against Brighton & Hove Albion this afternoon (Saturday 30 October).
The Reds welcome the Seagulls to Anfield hoping to avenge a defeat from last season as an empty home stadium witnessed an unprecedented run of consecutive defeats.
Klopp looks likely to be without James Milner, Fabinho and Thiago for the clash, whilst Naby Keita will be available for the hosts.
Writing in his weekly BBC Sport prediction column, Lawrenson backed the Reds to get the job done against an impressive Brighton side.
Brighton have really impressed me so far and even when they were 3-0 down against Manchester City last weekend they kept going and caused City some problems. Playing against City and Liverpool is different gravy to the teams the Seagulls have beaten this season, though, so I am going for them to get the same result – a defeat. It is now 14 games unbeaten for Liverpool in all competitions this season, and they have won 11 of them.
The 64-year-old predicted a 3-0 victory before going on to recall his own trophy-laden playing days and suggested the current incarnation of Liverpool stars will be ‘flying’ following their recent results.

History would suggest that Graham Potter’s side are a dangerous match for the Reds.
However, despite an upturn in results, Brighton have undergone a shift in style this season – one that could play directly into Liverpool’s strengths.
One man who will be on a mission to break yet more records is Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian already has 10 Premier League goals this term and will be hunting a sixth against Brighton.
