Luis Garcia baffled by decision as Liverpool are held against Tottenham

It was a frustrating afternoon for Liverpool in London once again as a depleted Reds couldn’t earn three points in the capital.

Jurgen Klopp named a heavily rotated midfield as Thiago, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Curtis Jones were all absent for the Premier League clash.

Superstar central defender Virgil van Dijk was also out following a positive COVID-19 test this week.

Despite the issues, the Reds were able to compete in a thrilling encounter and a 2-2 draw was perhaps a fair result.

However, England captain Harry Kane was lucky to stay on the field following the first-half lunge at Andy Robertson – who was subsequently dismissed late on.

Ex-Anfield icon Luis Garcia was left bemused at the final whistle and took to Twitter to question the decision.

Goals from Diogo Jota and Robertson had given Liverpool the ascendancy before a Son Heung-min strike levelled the contest.

Klopp’s side are now three points adrift at the top of the league and will now move onto a Carabao Cup clash with Leicester City before facing Leeds United on Boxing Day.

Hugely frustrating.

Albeit far from vintage Liverpool under Klopp, the key decisions might’ve cost the Reds a crucial three points away from home.

Spurs going down to 10-men in the opening 45 minutes changes the entire complexion of the game and likely sees the Merseyside visitors push on and secure victory.

There is no time to dwell on this disappointment, however, as fixtures come thick and fast at this point in the season and the Reds must bounce back with immediate effect.
