“There are no negotiations with Liverpool” – Reds star could leave in the summer after breakdown in contract talks

One Liverpool star could be out the door very shortly, as it has been revealed no negotiations have taken place between the Reds stalwart and the powers that be at Anfield over a new contract.

The standout development is the news that Ryan Gravenberch has officially committed his long-term future to Liverpool, putting pen to paper on an expansive new deal.

This major extension effectively ties the Dutch international to the club until 2032, signaling a massive vote of confidence from the coaching staff and ensuring that one of the team’s most versatile midfield talents will remain a cornerstone of the project for years to come.

The Anfield hierarchy is working tirelessly behind the scenes to secure the long-term future of Ibrahima Konate, though negotiations for the French powerhouse have reportedly hit a standstill.

While the reigning Premier League champions are eager to extend the centre-back’s stay, “little progress” has been made as he nears the end of his current deal, fueling concerns that he could follow in the footsteps of former teammates such as Trent Alexander Arnold by departing for Real Madrid.

Liverpool’s determination to keep their defensive colossus out of the clutches of the Spanish giants stands in sharp contrast to the situation of another first-team star.

Reports indicate the club haven’t even opened talks with this unnamed player, who is now reportedly eyeing his own exit route away from Merseyside this summer.

The latest on Alexis Mac Allister’s future

The player in question here is Alexis Mac Allister, who has endured a bumpy season in the heart of Liverpool’s midfield.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion ace was key to Liverpool lifting the Premier League title last campaign, with his energy and verve from the centre of the park, matched by his stunning ten-goal contributions in league action, helping the Reds ease to those top honours.

Unfortunately, like a lot of his other teammates, Mac Allister has fallen victim to a second-season slump under Arne Slot, with only four goal contributions in the league, next to his name across 2025/26 to date, alongside a drop in other areas of his varied game.

His contract is in play until 2028, but there are seemingly no negotiations that are going to take place to extend the deal beyond that expiry date.

It has been revealed by Mac Allister’s father Carlos, that there are “no negotiations with Liverpool to renew the contract”, as the Reds potentially look to cash in, so they can get some good money out of their former £35m purchase.

As has been customary with Liverpool in recent times, Real Madrid have previously been noted as being keen, so it will be fascinating to see if the number ten makes a sudden move away from Merseyside when the dramatic transfer window reopens.

Until then, Mac Allister will just be hoping he can help Slot and Co. finish inside those coveted Champions League positions, with two goals in recent games against Nottingham Forest and West Ham United showing there’s life in his legs, just yet.
