Liverpool are a top European club Lionel Messi would consider joining should he ever leave Barcelona, according to football advisor and agent, Francis Nkwain.
The Argentina superstar has spent his entire senior at the Nou Camp, scoring 620 goals in 709 appearances.
Speaking on the On The Whistle podcast, with quotes provided by the Daily Star, Nkwain made a bold claim surrounding Messi, stating that Liverpool would be the only suitable alternative to Barca before he hangs up his boots:
[Liverpool] have hit a little sweet spot they can only add to.
They are the kind of team where, if Messi was to move for one final challenge in a competitive league, Liverpool is that club.

To put it bluntly, Liverpool will never sign Messi, in my opinion.
I believe he is the greatest player in the history of the game, but as thrilling as it would be to see him a Reds shirt, it simply makes no sense.
For starters, a colossal transfer fee would be required to sign him, in my opinion, as well as wages, and he turns 33 later this year.
We feel like someone such as Kylian Mbappe would be a more viable option if Liverpool are to break the bank, given his long-term potential.
I don’t think Messi possesses the work-rate and intensity to thrive in a Jurgen Klopp side and that will only become more evident as he gets older.
I often see him preserving energy during games, picking his moments to come alive, and that wouldn’t work at Anfield.
Klopp isn’t the type of manager to have a luxury player in that respect – even someone as remarkable as the forward.
I think it speaks volumes about Liverpool’s progress that they are even mentioned in the same sentence as him, though.
In the past, any link with him would have laughable, such was the Reds’ mediocrity, but they are now world and European champions.
