Ancelotti dreamed of landing Liverpool job

Former Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly on the verge of completing a move to Everton.

According to Calcio Mercato, via Sport Witness, Ancelotti had been dreaming of taking over at Liverpool – ever since his departure from Bayern Munich in 2017.

The report claims that he wanted the Liverpool job, but with Jurgen Klopp excelling he has had no chance of landing it. Now he is set to take over at Everton, who are lingering just above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

There is no doubting that Klopp is one of the best managers in the world at the moment, given that he won FIFA Manager of the Year and Premier League Manager of the Season. Carlo Ancelotti, meanwhile, was sacked by Napoli earlier this month, showing that he may not be at the peak of his managerial powers at present.

Ancelotti has won titles in Germany, England, Italy and France, but now faces the task of trying to lift Everton out of a precarious situation. He may not be able to land his dream job in joining Liverpool, but he could still make a meaningful difference on Merseyside with their bitter rivals.
