Aston Villa eye up January loan move for Brewster

Aston Villa are weighing up a move for Rhian Brewster in January, according to The Athletic‘s Gregg Evans.

Brewster was tipped to enjoy a breakthrough season at Liverpool, but it hasn’t panned out that way.

Chances have been few and far between for the 19-year-old, who is still looking for full sharpness after long-term knee and ankle issues.

Liverpool are thought to be open to the idea of Brewster heading out on loan in January and Villa are the latest club to show an interest.

A move for the striker is described as a “possibility”, as Dean Smith’s team look to preserve their Premier League status.

Brewster needs regular football to push forward in his career, so a loan move makes perfect sense.

He will continue to struggle to break into Liverpool’s side for the time being and playing for the Under-23s isn’t helping him progress as a player.

Brewster has enormous potential and is still an exciting long-term option, but it benefits all parties for him to make a temporary switch elsewhere.
