Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde insists he is not interested in discussing rumours that claim the Catalan side will push to sign Philippe Coutinho in January, Four Four Two report.
There has been plenty of rumours circulating in the media that Barcelona will return to Liverpool’s with another bid for the player, while other reports suggest that the club will turn their attention to Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil instead.
The playmaker was heavily linked with the Catalans during the whole of the summer transfer window, however, a deal failed to materialise, and the Brazilian stayed at Anfield despite numerous reports Barca made offers more than the initial €105 million they paid for club record signing Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund.
With the transfer currently closed until the new year, Valverde is hoping to push any transfer rumours under the carpet for the time being.
The problem is we’ve been speaking about players for a long time who are not part of the club, there was a lot of talk during the close season. Right now, we can’t sign anybody, so let’s concentrate on what we’ve got now.
