Barcelona set to make £140m Coutinho offer

Barcelona are set to make a £140m offer Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho.

According to The Mirror, Barcelona are ready to offer £110m + £30m in add-ons to get the deal done.

The report claims that Barcelona expect it to be enough to tempt Liverpool into selling.

The deal would smash the current British transfer record, with Paul Pogba joining Manchester United for £89m.

There have been reports claiming that Coutinho believes he has played his last game for Liverpool and that he is already house hunting in Spain.

Coutinho has seven goals and six assists for Liverpool in the Premier League this season, despite only starting 13 matches.

The Brazilian handed in a transfer request last summer in an attempt to join Barcelona.

The Spanish giants had a number of offers rejected in the summer, with the highest being £114m.

Liverpool have already spent £75m this month, signing Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton.
