Benteke keen on playing for Mourinho

Despite only just moving to Liverpool over the summer, Benteke has hinted that playing under a different manager may tempt him.

The Daily Star are reporting that Benteke has expressed his desire to play for Chelsea boss José Mourinho to a Belgian outlet named Sport magazine.

Benteke was asked which manager in world football he would like to play for, to which he replied: “José Mourinho and Pep Guardiola.

“Not only because of their achievements: they have won everything.

Their approach is completely different and it is also why I would like to work with both.

Manchester United were another club who reportedly looked at the Belgian in the summer as they looked to bolster their attack, but it was the Reds that paid the £32.5m Aston Villa wanted in order to get their man.

A familiar trend with foreign players playing in the Premier League, the 24-year-old highlighted the weather as a negative aspect of life in England.

“Nothing bothers me apart from the climate, perhaps especially in Liverpool,” he said.

He has bagged two goals this season for Liverpool, including a stunning overhead kick against United at Old Trafford, but is currently sidelined with a hamstring problem.
