Fabio Borini may have left Liverpool Football Club, but he hasn’t stopped heaping praise on those that have worn the famous Red, albeit perhaps not the player you’d expect.
When asked to name the best player he has ever played alongside, he told Sunderland’s official website, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo: “The best player I think, potentially, is Balotelli. And Pirlo as well.”
The Black Cats’ forward, who arrived in the North East for £8m in the summer after three seasons on Liverpool’s books, played with the likes of Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho during his time on Merseyside.
The 24-year-old also lined up alongside Francesco Totti during his time at Roma, but Mario Balotelli was the man he singled out.
He also said that Raheem Sterling, now of Manchester City, is the fastest player he has played with, whilst Totti was revealed as the slowest.
Perhaps after another season on Wearside, his answer may change next time he is asked the same question.
