Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster has hailed Roberto Firmino as “one of the best” strikers in world football.
Firmino has been in sparkling form for the Reds so far this season, catching the eye with some silky flicks and tricks.
The Brazilian international operates in a false 9 role for the Reds and does his job incredibly well, causing havoc for opposition defences. Brewster, who looks up to Firmino, only had praise for the forward. As quoted on Soccer AM, the Englishman said:
As a striker, I’m saying he’s up there, he’s one of the best. He’s an amazing player and so underrated. Only lately is he being regarded as one of the best at what he does, cause he’s not a typical number nine.
Does Brewster have a point?

Brewster is right to claim that Firmino is massively underrated because he is. For the last two seasons, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have received all the plaudits, but Firmino is the glue that holds the Liverpool attack together.
His hard work mostly goes unnoticed but this season, there’s an increased spotlight on the forward and he’s proving himself to those who doubted him when he first arrived at Anfield.
His intricate passing is one of his key traits and he arguably is in the top three strikers in the world at the moment.
