Cardiff leading the race to land Clyne

Cardiff leading the race to land Clyne

Cardiff City are leading the race to sign Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne on loan in January.

According to The Mirror, via The BBC, Cardiff are the current frontrunners for his signature, as they battle Fulham and Leicester.

The report claims that Cardiff are currently in the best position to land Clyne on loan, as Neil Warnock looks to strengthen his defensive problems.

Clyne looks set to leave Liverpool in January as he goes in search of more regular game time away from Anfield.

Once Joe Gomez returns to fitness, Clyne will be Liverpool’s third-choice right-back for the second-half of the season.

The 27-year-old has struggled with injuries over the last two seasons and is looking to get his career back on track – which he could do with a loan switch to Cardiff.

Despite Cardiff leading the race, Leicester and Fulham could step up their interest once the window opens next week.
