Carragher tricks Coady about Liverpool interest in hilarious video

Jamie Carragher has brilliantly tricked Conor Coady into claiming Jurgen Klopp is keen on bringing him back to Liverpool.

Coady was captain of the Reds’ youth team back in the late 2000s and 2010s, but first-team opportunities proved almost impossible to come by during Rafa Benitez’s reign, and he was limited to just two senior appearances.

The 27-year-old has ended up forging an excellent career for himself away from Anfield, starring for Wolves under Nuno Espirito Santo and captaining them back into the Premier League.

Coady again performed well on Monday night, as Wolves battled their way to a 1-0 win away Leeds United at Elland Road.

After the game, he was interviewed by Sky Sports, where Carragher hilariously kidded him about Klopp’s interest:

In fairness to Coady, he handles the moment brilliantly, showing his loyalty to Wolves and not allowing himself to hint at how much a return to Liverpool would appeal.

I believe the centre-back would jump at the chance to be back at Anfield one day, given his history with the club, but he is at a perfect team to thrive currently.

He is playing every week and proving to be an influential performer, whereas at Liverpool he would likely be warming the substitutes’ bench most of the time, even without Virgil van Dijk around.

Coady is most at home in a back-three, as is proving to be the case at Wolves, but at Liverpool he would suddenly to expected to thrive in a two, which may not suit him as well.
