Chelsea 1-2 Liverpool: Three stars

Liverpool maintained their perfect start to the Premier League with a 2-1 win against Chelsea.

The win in west London makes it 15 consecutive Premier League wins for the Reds.

With six wins from six this season, Jurgen Klopp’s side sit five points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Rivals Manchester City won 8-0 against Watford on Saturday, but Liverpool responded brilliantly with a resounding victory against Frank Lampard’s Chelsea.

Goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Roberto Firmino gave the Reds a commanding lead at half time, before N’golo Kante’s second half goal made the last 20 minutes uncomfortable.

Whilst Chelsea had a goal ruled out by VAR in the first half, the Reds looked in control for much of the game. The win for Liverpool proves to be a great response to the midweek defeat to Napoli in the UEFA Champions League.

After such another victory in the league, we outline three Liverpool players who starred for the Reds on Sunday.
