Christian Eriksen set for recall against Liverpool this weekend

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen could be set to return to the starting line-up for their clash with Liverpool at Anfield this weekend.

According to Football London, Eriksen is poised to return to the XI after sitting on the bench for Tottenham’s 5-0 win over Red Star Belgrade.

Eriksen watched on as his teammates produced a stunning display to thrash the Serbian side in the Champions League.

Is this a blow for Liverpool?

Possibly. It depends on which Christian Eriksen turns up at Anfield. He has been hot and cold for Spurs over the past year, which makes him unpredictable as you do not know whether he will be at his creative best or a passenger.

The mercurial Dane has struggled this season in the Premier League – with just one goal and one assist in eight appearances. He has also only started five of Spurs’ nine games.

Liverpool will be hoping that he has an off day, as he is more than capable of producing a moment of magic when he is on form. If he is at his best, Liverpool’s defenders will need to get close to him and not allow him any time on the ball to work his magic and create chances for the likes of Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane.
