Danny Mills heaps praise on Liverpool stopper Alisson

Former Manchester City defender Danny Mills has been left blown away at Liverpool keeper Alisson’s impressive form this Premier League season.

The Brazilian international has been a key part in Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side, who have raced to a 16 point lead over the chasing pack.

Alisson has made 22 appearances in all competitions this season for the Reds, keeping 11 clean sheets, and conceding just 11 goals all season (Transfermarkt).

Speaking to Football Insider, former England international Mills was quick to heap praise on the 27-year-old shot-stopper.

I’ll tell you what it is, Alisson is an exceptional goalkeeper but he doesn’t do drama very often. He’s in the right place at the right time to make what looks like a comfortable save.

You very rarely see him have to make those incredible saves because he’s out of position or the defence have let him down. His angles are exceptional at times, his distances, he knows where he is.

Alisson is calmness personified.

We feel that Mills is completely right in what he is saying. Alisson has been very impressive for Liverpool and even manager Jurgen Klopp admitted that he has exceeded his expectations.

He has been pivotal for Liverpool this season and not just in a defensive sense. The goalkeeper has also registered an assist, setting up Mohamed Salah’s late goal against Manchester United.

To hear Alisson finally getting his rightful praise from pundits and fans is pretty pleasing because we feel some of his displays go slightly unnoticed at times.
