Liverpool target and Lazio centre back Stefan De Vrij looks set to sign a new deal with Lazio that will include a €25m release clause.
Italian radio presenter Niccolo Ceccarini has said that Lazio are close to finding an agreement with De Vrij over a new contract.
They were originally demanding that his release clause be higher, but have lowered it to €25m in order to secure a deal.
According to Calcio Mercato, Juventus and Liverpool are both interested in De Vrij.
On De Vrij, it seems like Lazio may have lowered their demands concerning his release clause. At 25 million euros, an agreement can be found. As for his salary, Lazio will offer him a big salary which would see him become one of the highest paid players in their team if he renews his deal with the club.
Liverpool are in the market to improve their defence and could see De Vrij as a cheaper alternative to his compatriot Virgil Van Dijk.
The Southampton defender could cost upwards of £60m if they were to make a January move for the Premier League defender.
De Vrij has impressed for Lazio this season, with the Rome-based side sitting fourth in the table.
The 25-year-old has 31 caps for his country, Holland.
