England rugby coach Eddie Jones believes Liverpool’s stunning win over Barcelona last season is the best sporting event he has ever witnessed live.
The Australian inspired England to the rugby World Cup earlier this month, before losing to South Africa.
Jones knows a thing or two about wonderful sporting occasions and he was present at Anfield last season, as Liverpool achieved the impossible.
Needing to overturn a 3-0 deficit in the Champions League semi-final, Jurgen Klopp’s men won 4-0, on an unforgettable evening.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Jones admits he has never experienced anything like that night on Merseyside:
Last game I saw was that Champions League semi The best sporting event I’ve been to!
It was just the atmosphere; I remember walking off and the girls who served the dinner are crying.
Just the total emotion that ground has is incredible.

Liverpool’s unfathomable win over Barca was surely the greatest-ever night at Anfield, even pipping the victories over Saint-Etienne and Chelsea.
Even by the Reds’ standards it was dramatic, especially considering Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino were both absent.
Jones was fortunate to be present, with so many Liverpool supporters around the world desperate to be there.
It may be a long time before we see anything like it again.
