Liverpool supporters have been left touched by Alisson and Ben Foster’s brilliant gesture after the Reds’ defeat to Watford on Saturday.
For once, Alisson didn’t come to his side’s rescue over the weekend, as Jurgen Klopp’s men lost 3-0 at Vicarage Road.
It was a bitterly disappointing afternoon for anyone of a Liverpool persuasion, as their unbeaten record went up in smoke.
Despite the frustration of losing the game, that didn’t stop Alisson from putting his fame to good use after the game.
The Brazilian traded goalkeeper jerseys with Ben Foster, but there was more to the story than that.
Alisson’s jersey was given to Foster in order to raise funds for Cure Leukaemia, with his shirt being auctioned off to the highest bidder.
The Watford ‘keeper hailed his opponent on Twitter, describing him as a ‘legend’ in the process:
So the legend that is @alissonbecker has given me his shirt from the game on Saturday night to raise funds for @cureleukaemia again 👏👏🙌🙌 The highest bidder will get the shirt so anybody seriously interested get in touch on Instagram or in the replies on here👍👍 pic.twitter.com/DTXKPnfu99
