Fans mock social media post predicting Adrian to fail at Liverpool

Adrian’s summer move to Liverpool was a transfer that came from nowhere, with the Spaniard replacing Simon Mignolet as Alisson’s deputy.

Although he arrived at Anfield not expecting much playing time, an injury to Alisson on the opening weekend of the season has seen the 32-year-old used in every single Premier League and Champions League game since.

Barring the defeat away to Napoli, Adrian has won every single one of those matches, proving to be a consistent performer between the sticks.

Hilariously, one West Ham supporter is now looking rather foolish, having seemingly not rated Adrian during his time with the Hammers.

The Twitter account @WestHam_Central claimed that “Liverpool are literally an Alisson injury away from relegation” when Adrian joined, which couldn’t be further from the truth.

These Liverpool supporters have been responding to the post, reminding the fan in question about his horrendous prediction.

It was a reckless opinion to have in the first place, considering Adrian has been a solid Premier League ‘keeper for a number of years.

Granted, he isn’t on Alisson’s level – very few are – but he has been an astute signing and an upgrade on the inconsistent Mignolet.

Once Alisson returns from injury, he will rightly come straight back into the team, but Adrian deserves enormous praise for filling the void left by the Brazilian.
