Fans rank Liverpool’s top five performers against Cardiff

Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League on Easter Sunday with a hard-fought 2-0 win against Cardiff City in South Wales.

The hardened turf at the Cardiff City Stadium didn’t seem to affect Jurgen Klopp’s side as they produced an array of chances before breaking the deadlock in the second half.

Georginio Wijnaldum vanquished the tension after firing a well-worked Trent Alexander-Arnold corner past Neil Etheridge, before Mohamed Salah won and James Milner dispatched a late penalty to seal all three points.

Liverpool’s 27th league win of the 2018-19 season sees them leapfrog Manchester City to lead by two points again before the Blues’ pivotal game in hand against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

If Pep Guardiola’s reigning champions drop points in the derby, the Reds are simply three wins away from a first-ever Premier League title.

After full-time, we asked Liverpool fans to vote for their top performers in our duel-style selector, and here’s who you choose as Man of the Match.
