Arsenal consider move for Liverpool defender Moreno

Liverpool are resigned to losing defender Alberto Moreno at the end of the season, when his contract with the club expires.

Moreno’s contract situation has alerted a number of clubs to his availability, including Arsenal, who are weighing up offering the Spain international a contract, according to Mirror Sport.

Moreno has an offer on the table from the Reds, although the left-sided full-back has indicated that he has intention in signing it, having lost his first-team berth to Andrew Robertson.

With Arsenal boss Unai Emery having worked with Moreno at Sevilla, the Gunners coach could look to the 26-year old to provide competition for Nacho Monreal, with previous back-up Sead Kolašinac having fallen out of favour.

Reports also suggest that Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona have been alerted to Moreno’s situation.

Liverpool won’t look to move Moreno on in January, with boss Jurgen Klopp preparing to wait until the summer to find a long-term replacement.
