Brewster due to hold talks with ‘unnamed club’ ahead of January loan

Rhian Brewster is set to meet an ‘unnamed club’ for talks over a potential loan move away from Liverpool this month, according to reports.

The 19-year old has been linked with a short-term move away from Anfield for some time now, with Liverpool having taken their time to sound out the right destination for the forward to develop in the best way.

Wales Online (via Bristol Post) report that Brewster has yet to decide what he wants to do, with Bristol City said to be keen on bringing him to Ashton Gate before the January window closes.

However, The Post also claim that Brewster is set to talk to an unnamed club, who could also be in the running to sign the England youth international.

Brewster is set to feature against Everton in the FA Cup on Sunday, with Jurgen Klopp looking to field a weakened side, but the forward will soon find his next destination before the end of the window.

I think it is very sensible that Liverpool are keeping Brewster back until they can find the right move for him.

Sure, if he had gone earlier, he could already be playing football. But for both Brewster’s personal benefit and for Liverpool’s investment in his potential, it is a smart move from them to consider each potential destination with caution.

One wrong loan move can tank someone’s career, if their mentality is shot or they aren’t treated well enough in regards to their game time, so the Reds taking their time is admirable.
