Celtic loan deal for Liverpool winger Wilson is off

Liverpool winger Harry Wilson’s loan move to Celtic appears to be off, with the Hoops baulking under the Reds’ loan deal demands, according to the Record.

Celtic had been hoping to land the young Welshman on a loan deal for the season, with up to 12 Championship sides also believed to be interested, but Liverpool’s demands became too much for the Hoops.

Liverpool had expected Wilson to start an undisclosed amount of games for the Bhoys next season, and as part of the proposed deal, would force Celtic to cough up more money if the demands weren’t met.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has refused to guarantee any players game time without them first earning it on merit.

The Northern Irish coach proved this last season when highly rated Chelsea starlet Charly Musonda struggled for game time at Parkhead.

With a move to Paradise seemingly off, Liverpool still have their pick of interest parties to take Wilson on loan, with Middlesbrough, Leeds, Norwich, Stoke and Rangers just some of the other interested clubs.
