Liverpool midfielder Emre Can may well have kicked his last ball for the club, with the club confirming he will miss the rest of the season through injury.
The German international is out of contract in the summer, and it seems very likely that he will move on at the end of the season, with Juventus the club most heavily linked.
The 24-year old midfielder was struggling to be fit for the Champions League tie against Manchester City on Wednesday night with a back injury, with Klopp saying he was “very close” to playing.
However, it seems that Can has had an injury relapsed, and could now miss out on the World Cup in Russia this summer too.

He is touch and go to make the trip and attempt to retain the title with Germany as current world champions.
It is big blow for Liverpool who lose a key player for the remainder of the season, and particularly for this weekend, with Klopp wanting to play the midfielder against Everton in the Merseyside Derby.
Jordan Henderson is also suspended for the reverse fixture against City on Tuesday, having picked up a booking too many on Wednesday, which will give Klopp a bigger selection dilemma.
While it isn’t impossible for Can to play for the club again, it seems like it’s all but certain that fans have seen the last of him in the red shirt at Anfield.
