Klopp is ‘happy’ with current Liverpool squad

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp claims he is happy with his side’s transfer business, despite having only brought in two players so far.

Naby Keïta had already agreed a move to Anfield last summer, but remained with RB Leipzig for the most recent Bundesliga campaign, and joins the Reds this season, taking Steven Gerrard’s treasured No. 8 shirt.

Monaco defender-cum-midfielder Fabinho has also completed a switch, joining from Monaco for around £43.7million.

While not a first-teamer, Isaac Christie-Davies has also secured a move to Merseyside after his contract with Chelsea ended earlier this month.

While Klopp admits he is happy with what he has so far, he also left the door open for more acquisitions before the transfer window closes on August 9.

Talking to LFCTV, as reported by Sky Sports News, Klopp said:

I am happy. The work is going on and why should we stop until the window is done?

It is all good but we will see what happens. If all the players come back healthy from the World Cup, then we already have a really good team and that is all I need to know.

What happens on the other side [of the World Cup], we will see.

Liverpool are still interested in a deal for Stoke forward Xherdan Shaqiri, while the club’s pursuit of Lyon star Nabil Fekir is not yet over.
