With the first-team otherwise engaged, it was always going to be a youthful Liverpool side against Villa this week. Chirivella is likely to be one of the more experienced heads in the group, with him having 60 senior appearances in his career at the age of 22.
It is important for Liverpool to have someone with a modicum of experience to see them through the game, with Villa looking to take advantage of Liverpool’s lack of first-team players.
