Liverpool fans react to impressive Salah goalscoring stat

Several Liverpool fans have reacted to a Twitter post comparing Mohamed Salah alongside some of the clubs great strikers in recent times.

The Egyptian has taken the Reds by storm since signing for a then club record fee from Roma in the summer of 2017, having scored 44 goals in all competitions in his first season with the club.

Having formed a formidable partnership with fellow forwards Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, the Reds now look like an entirely different team than when Jurgen Klopp took over from Brendan Rodgers in 2015.

Salah’s impressive goalscoring record has helped fire the club back up into Premier League title contention after several years struggling to break into the top four, and the club were even able to reclaim the Champions League title last season after back-to-back finals.

Talking of Salah’s goalscoring record on social media, one user has highlighted how devastating the former Chelsea man has been for the club.

According to the Tweet, Salah has scored 84 goals in 126 games for the club, which is more goals scored and in less games than both Fernando Alonso (81 in 142) and Luis Suarez (82 in 133), with Salah having done so playing largely as a winger instead of a striker.

Many fans took to social media to both praise Salah’s impressive exploits, while also conceding the point that the Egyptian had better teammates around him than the other two.

You cannot deny the incredible accomplishments that Mo Salah has been able to achieve since joining the Reds, regardless whether he was helped by having quality teammates around him.

In hindsight, Roma let Salah leave the Stadio Olimpico for an absurdly low fee, and the Reds have certainly got their money’s worth through the Egyptian.

With a first ever Premier League title looking increasingly likely to finally arrive at Anfield this season, Salah’s legacy will only be more compounded on Merseyside.
