Liverpool Player Ratings: Burnley (A)

Liverpool continued their good start to the season by breezing past Burnley 3-0 at Turf Moor to go into the first international break as table-toppers of the Premier League, having not dropping a single point so far.

A Chris Wood own goal, and strikes from Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino for the Reds saw the away side sail through this game without much of a problem.

Just after the half-an-hour mark, Trent Alexander-Arnold picked up possession in the Burnley half and tried to whip in a cross. However, that ball got a nick off Wood and spooned into the back of the net to hand Liverpool a bizarre lead.

Mane made it two before half-time, when Ben Mee gave the ball away to allow Firmino to run at the space in the final third and find the aforementioned scorer.

Klopp’s men had other chances to increase their tally, but Mohamed Salah, who hit the post in the first half, wasn’t having his best day in terms of decision-making.

Eventually, it was his inadvertent assist that paved way for Firmino to score 10 minutes from time and kill the game off.
