Liverpool Player Ratings: Tottenham (A)

Liverpool continued their exceptional start to the season by beating Tottenham 1-0 away at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Roberto Firmino scored the only of the game where the Reds were better than the opponents in an overall aspect.

Liverpool began the game well and almost scored in the first minute when Firmino’s shot was blocked on the line and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s shot hit the post.

Later on, Virgil van Dijk got his header saved by Paulo Gazzaniga from point-blank range.

Eventually, the Reds got their goal before half-time, when Mohamed Salah assisted Firmino for the goal. The Brazilian took his goal very well.

Spurs sat back and had a couple of chances later on, but they never looked like a team who came out to beat the runaway league leaders.

For Liverpool, they made it tough for themselves by not scoring more than one goal and allowing Spurs to have more of the ball in the last 10 minutes.
